Louis Coviak - Lead

His name is Louis Coviak, he's 48, 5'8'', 160 lbs, and a Scorpio (which, in itself, tells you he's a little bit moody, very dramatic, somewhat mysterious.). But to break down this complex man into a short list of declaratives, just will not do.

Louis has always made singing and the spotlight part of his life. He used to do high school theatre and moved to community theatre with the Dearborn Civic Theatre and Oak Park Community Theatre. He could be seen in everything from Brigadoon, No No Nanette, Miracle Worker, and was the lead in Count Dracula. He loves to hit a good Karaoke bar, and even hosted Karaoke at the Mainstreet Tavern in Frankenmuth for two years. He has been barbershopping for 8 years, is a member of both the Detroit-Oakland Gentleman Songsters chorus and the Macomb Guardians of Harmony chorus, and has sung lead with several quartets including Shindig, Loving Memory, and now, the pinnacle of his barbershopping "career", Coda Honor.

Always one to be difficult, he makes scheduling rehearsal for the Coda Honor tough by working a midnight shift at Metaldyne, but usually leaves his weekends free for fun and friends, and thankfully the quartet fits both categories!

Lou is a father of six, grandfather of 3, and good friend to many. He describes himself quite appropriately thus, "I am a good friend and love my family. I am a great listener and very emphatic. I am an open book."

He loves taking pictures, so smile for him when you see him! He loves a good movie from Disney to horror, comedy to musicals, enjoys a good game of Euchre, Rummy, even Chess. Lou even indulges his wild side a bit by tooling around on his 2004 Honda Sabre motorcycle.
